The high water level at Ciliwung River has left inundation as high as 50-120 cm at four points that spread in East Jakarta, Tuesday (3/8) morning.

Katulampa Sluice Gate had showed on alert 1 last night. But now, the condition began to improve than last night,

East Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) Head, Iwan Samosir said those four points are in Kampung Melayu, precisely at RW 04, 05, 07 and 08 (50 cm-1 m), Bidara Cina at RW 07 and 11 (70 cm), Cililitan at RW 06 and 07 (2 m), and Cawang at Gg Arus (1 m). Then in Kampung Pulo is still safe from flood, but its water predicted to raise again.

"Katulampa Sluice Gate had showed on alert 1 last night. But now, the condition began to improve than last night," he told.

The inundation is not severe compared to previous years. This is because Manggarai Sluice Gate is opened, weather in Depok and Jakarta is good and no tidal wave. If it happens, water will inundate Jalan Jatinegara Raya.
